A fundamental advantage of sending your voice calls across the internet is the elimination of any call charge (if this was only true!).When you send you call voice between A and B using voice over IP the call is usually free for exmaple, however, when you need to call off-switch which means breaking out to a mobile network or numbers prefixed with 08 and 07 the call is normally chargable. This means if you are anticipating never paying for another call again, think again. In addition, voice over ip is new technology and the rollout costs can be more than average if you compare it to traditional ISDN and Analogue lines. Therefore you must consider the setup costs and whether or not they out-weigh the benefits of employing such technology.
