Samsung has introduced the entry-level OfficeServ 7100 is aimed at the Small to Medium businesses.

Highly configurable, it can be tailored to an organisation's individual requirements, so that you do not pay for features and functions you don't require.The OfficeServe 7100 can be upgraded easily and changed depending on the requiremenrts of the business. The OfficeServ 7100 is fully compatible with larger systems in the OfficeServ 7000 series,.

The Samsung OfficeServ 7100 supports up to 32 extensions and 30 lines with either analogue or digital connections. Its media gateway is integrated into main processor so the system can also be supplied as an 'out of the box' solution for VoIP telephony with IP handsets. As a VoIP solution, OfficeServ 7100 can support SIP trunks.

Advanced messaging is a standard feature. As well as standard voice mail functionality, users can route callers with different greetings and call routing based on time of day, day of week, CLI and DDI. This means greetings and call routing can be customised for callers, users and groups. Voicemail messages can be converted to email files and transferred to the corporate email server, allowing users to access all their messages regardless of the original medium used. It also enables users to copy, forward or store messages on their laptop or PC for future reference.

Auto-attendant functionality is standard and can answer multiple calls simultaneously, providing diifferent greetings for different departments. External callers are prompted by the auto-attendant for the required individual or department, without the need for a receptionist to handle the call. If no extension number is dialled within a specified time, the call is automatically connected to a receptionist or to another specified extension.

OfficeServ 7100 offers location-independence for users, with both mobile and remote teleworking supported by the system. With the ability to easily connect individuals and groups to the system in any location through a Broadband connection.

Multi-site operation is possible across a dedicated WAN or a VPN - and security is assured because OfficeServ 7100 includes Intrusion Detection/Prevention, which provides valuable statistics and alerts concerning all inbound and outbound communications. The system also has the ability to securely host Internet services such as web servers, database applications and email without compromising security.

The OfficeServ 7100 can be used with Samsung's extensive range of desktop and mobile handsets, which share a common look and feel for ease of use. Advanced feature keysets, IP phones, and DECT handsets are all available - and the OfficeServ 7100 also has a WiFi solution. This allows a softphone client application to be used with mobile data devices such as laptops and PDAs for calls, or alternatively Samsung mobile WiFi handsets can be used. This enables users to take their extensions with them when away from their desk so they can work from anywhere in the office while retaining their data connection to the company network.
